Are you feeling... Wicked?

Cause I am!! :-) Last week I went to see the musical, Wicked at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood with 20 other SWE (Society of Women Engineers) members. It was absolutely amazing! It totally blew me away. I went last minute on a whim because there was an extra ticket and it was the best decision I could have made.  First of all, it was a great excuse to get dressed up in pretty dresses. Then we all drove to Hollywood and went to In-n-Out afterwards, yummy! Oh by the way, I learned that you can order Neopolitan milkshakes, I had no idea! They're amazing!

defaultBut back to Wicked... I had heard of the musical but I had no idea what it was about. Wicked is the untold story of the witches of Oz, so basically the prequel to the Wizard of Oz.  It is all about the "not so wicked" witch of the west and Glenda (or GAlenda) and how they meet in school and were best friends. The storyline is amazing (I really want to go watch the Wizard of Oz now to see how they tie together) and it was really funny. I was on the edge of my seat and I did not want it to end. The music was beautiful, and I am now addicted to the soundtrack. I think I know all the words to "Defying Gravity" now. It was so nice to get away from classes and USC for awhile and to experience something new, it was also my first time going to the Pantages theater which itself was gorgeous.  And in case you have seen it, some of my friends said I remind them of GAlenda, but I disagree. However, I have mastered the "toss toss no hands." ;-)

BID NIGHT!

Bid night was Sunday night and it was AMAZING. What is bid night you might be asking? Well let me tell you... bid night is the night after formal recruitment (rush) is over and all the new girls find out where they received a bid. Its so defaultexciting to be done with rush and know that we have 65 awesome new members that I can call my sisters. We've all worked so hard over the past few weeks and it all came down to this night and we had so much fun. We had awesome food, a bounce house (I felt like I was 5 years old again and it was great), and most importantly - just tons of fun hanging out with my friends. It was so much fun and I cant wait to get to know all of our new members better :-)

Gameday!!

This past Saturday was our first football game of the season versus the Idaho Vandals. Football season is by far the defaultbest time of the year and I love home football games. The Trojan Spirit is a huge reason why I chose USC. The passion that everyone has for this school is amazing. Walking on campus on gamedays and seeing everyone dressed in Cardinal and Gold is breathtaking. And everytime I walk into the Coliseum I get chills.

On Saturday before the game I went to some tailgates on campus with some of my friends and sorority sisters. My roommates from 2 years ago always have tailgates with their parents so I stopped by there for some great food and I went to the Panhellenic tailgate in McCarthy Quad. Two of my friends dressed up as Pete Carrol, they even dyed their hair gray! They looked great. It was sooo hot outside this Saturday (unusally warm for this time of year) so we made sure to stay in the shade. We walked over to the game (making sure to kick the pole on the way, a USC tradition for good luck) really early and the line was already huge!! Apparently everyone else had the same idea of getting there early. When we eventually got in we got seats relatively high up in the stadium but you get a good view from up there. The rest of the game just continued to get better. I love seeing Traveller (USC's mascot) and I was so happy we beat the Vandals by 28 points. I cant wait until our next home game against Washington State. FIGHT ON!! :-)
